Emailing newsletter publishers directly is another good way to submit articles. Especially those who keep archives on their website, providing you with a link back forever.

I have enjoyed a lot of success as far as driving free traffic is concerned with writing articles. Article writing is my main method of targeted quality traffic generation to my blogs and websites. It can also help indirectly with our Google rankings.

I use articles to promote my sites all the time and its nice to be reminded why I put in the time!

I'm also poacher turned gamekeeper as I run an article directory (http://www.morethanarticles.com). When I started out I accepted articles from authors visiting my site. Now I don't. I just got way too much spam.

I now use ArticleMarketer both as the source of articles for my directory and for distributing my own articles. I have to recommend their service to any writer who wants wide distribution with very little effort. The great thing is that the article is quality checked before it goes out so everyone wins.

I personally did hate article writing but the more I wrote the more confident I became and now love writing articles. I hold the view of one article, one very good article not reproduced on any other directory. I submit that one article to my favorite article directory only once and my lesser articles, well I submit it to all of them.

Your post is great, what you have stated here is very true and makes having this type of information a great tool for website/blog traffic generation.

I have tried most of the article dirs, but when it comes to an article directory which really caters for quality instead of raving for quantity articles, http://www.ldainformation.net is among those quality article dirs to seek to maintain quality.
